Jean Gilberte, Deacon, LMT, RMT, HTP

Jean resides in West Hartford, CT.  Born in St. Agatha, Maine, her parents are Oscar and Yvette Martin. She is the second of eight children. Jean’s diverse experiences in life have contributed to her current work with children.

For seventeen years, she had her own daycare center. Her work as a healing practitioner began years ago when she worked for a home care agency and Hospice, assisting individuals and families through their healing journeys.

When she became quite ill, she spent years self-educating on natural remedies and alternative therapies. She now uses her own personal experiences and formal training to assist others in their healing work. She has taken undergraduate courses at CCSU for Art Therapy and Cambridge College for Human Services. Jean currently has a practice where she utilizes her skills as a Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Master Teacher, Practitioner of Healing Touch and Therapeutic Touch. As a Reiki Master Teacher, she gives weekend workshops to adults and especially to children 7 years and older. “What I love about teaching the children is watching them gain self-esteem and confidence in themselves.”

Jean was ordained a Deacon on May 31, 2009 for the American Ecumenical Church. She teaches the children of the Parish about their faith and is also a mentor for them. She has the good fortune of having children of all ages come to her practice to receive massage and/or energy work.

Jean is the mother of three adult children and four grandchildren.
